Clinics and Symposiums
Share |

Part of PVDA’s mission statement involves promoting the art and sport of dressage through education. PVDA is very supportive of education opportunities and hosts or sponsors many clinics and symposiums throughout the year. We also support & encourage our Chapters in hosting non-profit clinics to provide access to quality education at reasonable rates. PVDA members and volunteers usually receive discounted or even free admission to these events. Chapter events are not always open to none-members but membership is easy to obtain for a very small fee if you are already a PVDA member.

Because our Chapters are hosting clinics we can have more events of this kind on our calendar & put additional funding into clinics with some of the Masters of Dressage. Their experience & level of training means they can really help us move forward in our journey. They have repeated the path & honed it to be able to put their skills to exactly what we need- even as Adult Amateurs! We aim to provide access to information relevant to all our members, no matter their age, goals or experience. Some recurring events include the new test clinics when USEF dressage test are updated, Our Tea is for Training show management training sessions (also useful to competitors). Some past events include a Master Class with Catherine Haddad, a symposium with Christoph Hess, as well as talks, clinics, and symposiums with other top riders like Debbie McDonald, Heather Mason, Hilda Gurney and USDF President George Williams and Olympian Reiner Klimke to name a few. The Riders Committee also sponsors Jr/YR clinics and adult rider clinics.

Annually Recurring Clinics

Tea is for Training
The Tea is an annual event, usually held in February or March, where PVDA offers several informal training sessions for volunteers interested in learning about the jobs required to run a PVDA schooling show or recognized/licensed show. Training is offered in the following categories:
  • Scoring
  • Scribing
  • Managing
  • Entry Secretary
  • Show Secretary
  • Ring Setup
  • Runner
  • Ring Steward
  • Show Prep
    etc.

The day is complimented with a traditional afternoon tea and a lot of fun and camaraderie are had by all. This event is free for PVDA members and non-members are welcome for a small fee. Registration is required so that supplies can be ordered appropriately.

If you have any questions about the Tea is for Training you can send an email to our education committee at education@pvda.org

The 2019 Tea will be announced soon.
